Our combined knowledge and experience of hosting and participating at the highest level of Coastal events will ensure that this will be a safe, fair and, above all, enjoyable Championships for participants and spectators alike.
Welcome to Tynemouth, famous for its award-winning beaches, particularly King Edward's Bay and Longsands, which offer beautiful golden sand and are popular for water sports like surfing and paddleboarding. We are lucky to have such a beautiful coastline on our doorstep.

Swift Racing are pleased to continue our commitment to the growth of Coastal Rowing in the UK. We are used to working alongside Rowing Clubs in the UK. The Coastal and Beach Sprints Rowing division was created to respond to the huge growth in interest and participation shown in the sport all over the world in recent years. Swift Racing manufactures and supplies rowing boats and equipment for all disciplines worldwide, from fine racing boats to para and recreational rowing boats. Swift Racing are leading the way in FISA Coastal rowing, winning World Championships and breaking records around the globe.
Swift Racing are delighted to continue our support of the Coastal Clubs and we are really excited about our ongoing relationship with British Rowing. It is great to see the continuing growth in popularity of coastal rowing in the UK and be a part of its success.
We would encourage all clubs and rowers alike to engage with the event to grow the participation to be one of the biggest Coastal events in Europe, something we can all be proud of.

Junior events will be J18, meaning athletes must have been under 18 on the 1st September 2024.
The minimum age for Masters is 36.
Medals will be awarded within each race for crews with an average age of 40+, 50+ and 60+.
Entries should be made via BROE2.

The number of boats allowed on the start line in any race shall be 20 (a small increase may be permitted if it assists in the running of the event in a timely manner. Should this number be exceeded there will be heats in the morning period. The number of qualifiers from each heat will be published on the live draw.
The timetable will be designed to maximise participation; it is each club’s own responsibility to have boats and equipment available for each event entered.

Precipitation: Light showers possible — typically short-lived. Average of 8–12 dry hours per day.

Newcastle International Airport (NCL): Closest and most convenient option — 25 km / ~35 mins to Tynemouth by car; Metro to Tynemouth

Newcastle Central Station is on the East Coast Main Line.
Direct trains from London (3 hrs), Edinburgh (1.5 hrs), Manchester (2.5 hrs), and beyond.
From Central Station, take the Tyne & Wear Metro to Tynemouth (~25 mins)
From London: ~5.5 hrs (via A1(M))
From Manchester: ~2.5 hrs (via A1 or M62)
From Edinburgh: ~2 hrs (via A1 South)
🅿️ Car Parking: Available along Tynemouth seafront, Longsands car parks, and nearby streets (beware of permit parking only in some areas). Early arrival recommended during race days.
🅿️ Trailer Parking: For private trailers, boats can be unloaded on the slipway at the north end of the beach, near The View Restaurant. After unloading, trailers can then be stored in the car park located behind the Tynemouth Aquarium.
Tynemouth and the surrounding areas offer a range of accommodation types, from charming seaside guesthouses to full-service hotels and self-catering options. Book early – August is peak season.
