About Us

Who Can Join?

We welcome anybody and everybody. You do not have to be fit, know anything about rowing or know an existing member.

The Facilities

The club house has a bar and social area, and there are both ladies and gents toilets and showers. The boat house has a small gym which includes 4 rowing machines.

The club owns a number of boats. Some of these are fine boats, sleek and light, designed for racing.  Others are heavier and stronger, more suited for the coastal conditions at Tynemouth.

We recently purchased 5 new recreational boats from Burgashell with the help of a grant from Sport England and assistance from the Amateur Rowing Association.

What about Beginners?

Beginners are always welcome.

When do we Meet?

Sunday morning at 10am, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm. However members can come down whenever they wish in between times.

What about the Social Side?

We hold a number of parties and other functions. The garden and beach make it an ideal venue for barbeques.
