Welcome To The Tynemouth Rowing Club Website
Tynemouth Rowing Club enjoys a glorious location right at the point where the river Tyne empties into the North Sea. The things that we love about our club - wind, waves and tide, a pier and lighthouse, a priory, ships and fishing boats, and even the occasional seal - are sometimes the very things that make for a challenging row. However, the club carries on a proud tradition of rowing since 1867. We are pleased to welcome new members of all abilities, and offer coaching as well as the occasional learn to row program for those who are new to the sport. No matter what your age or fitness level, rowing is a lifelong sport, which is widely recognised as one of the best all around activities for improving strength and cardiovascular health. When conditions are not favourable for rowing, we offer options for dry-land training, such as circuits and beach workouts.
Coronavirus - Covid19 Update Unfortunately the club is currently closed until further notice due to the Covid19 situation. The committee feels this is the best step to take following the Government's advice to 'avoid unnecessary social contact'. Further updates will be made as appropriate. We hope to see you soon at Tynemouth Rowing Club! |
