Welcome to
Tynemouth Rowing Club

Welcome

Our club enjoys a glorious location right at the point where the river Tyne meets the North Sea.

The things that set our club apart - wind, waves and tide, a pier and lighthouse, a priory, ships and fishing boats, and even the occasional seal or dolphin - are sometimes the very things that make for a challenging row, but are also the very things we love most!

The club has had a proud tradition of rowing since 1867 - so why not join us?

We are pleased to welcome new members of all abilities, and offer more structured Learn to Row programmes for those who are new to the sport.

No matter what your age or fitness level, rowing is a lifelong sport, widely recognised as one of the best all-round activities for improving strength and cardiovascular health.

When conditions are not favourable for rowing, we offer options for land training, such as circuits, runs and beach workouts - and the kettle is always ready for a post-session cuppa!
